Checkers Cache Builder

Build a Checkers geocache, players beat our computer at checkers to unlock your coordinates or keyword.

Sign in to save this cache to your account

Free, just a username and passphrase, no email. Caches you build show up in My Caches so you can reopen and edit them without hunting for the edit link, and watch plays and wins. The same account syncs My Puzzle Texts across devices and manages your short links.

My Caches

A Checkers cache hides your final location behind a game of American checkers. Players open your link and play our computer, always moving first. Captures are mandatory, just like the real game, and the board makes that rule impossible to miss. Beat the computer, no pieces left or no legal move, and the page reveals your final coordinates or a keyword. The game and the computer both run on the server, so there is nothing on the page to peek at.

Do not put sensitive, personal, or inappropriate content in a cache. Anything you create here is public to anyone with the link, and you are responsible for what you publish. Keep a copy of your edit key, it is the only way to change or delete your cache later.

Cache

Only the site admin can see this, in case they need to reach you about your cache. Never shown to players.

Game

Gentle plays a weaker move now and then. Standard and Ruthless always play their best. Every level is still beatable, the player always moves first.

Which side the player plays

The player always moves first, whichever side they play.

Theme

Each swatch is the real board art, a man and a king for each side. The theme changes the look only, never the rules.

Reveal (shown when they win)

Reveal either final coordinates or a keyword
Where can I host images for free?

Paste a direct https:// link to an image. Free image hosts that give a direct link include ImgBB, postimages.org, and Cloudinary. A geocaching.com image link works too. The link must start with https://.

Keep your cache in play to keep it live. Share the play link so people visit it; unused caches are cleaned up over time.

Play as a preview

Preview links are demos only, they cannot be shared or used as a live cache.
