Numerology

Pythagorean and Chaldean numerology for words and names.

Numerology assigns each letter a single-digit value and then sums and reduces the result to a single digit (the digital root). Three lookup tables are widely used:

  • Pythagorean (1–9): A=1, B=2, … I=9, J=1, K=2, … cycling through 1–9.
  • Pythagorean (1–0): A=1, B=2, … J=0, K=1, … cycling through 1–0.
  • Chaldean: non-cyclic table that skips the digit 9; letters are ordered A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5, U=6, O=7, F=8, I=9, K=10 = 1, …
